Overnight oats are one of the most time efficient breakfast options. It literally takes 5 min to curate if you have already done the prep work last night. But it can be boring to have same/similar overnight oats regularly.
Whether you're a seasoned oatmeal enthusiast or just starting your oatmeal journey, this article will inspire you with five unique and flavorful oatmeal bowl recipes. From sweet and fruity to savoury and hearty, I have listed them all :D
The good ol’ plain oatmeal bowl
This is the simplest version you could make when you don’t have many ingredients and want to keep it simple.
Mix 100 gm curd/yogurt or a cup of milk with 2-3 spoons oats with a spoon of chia/basil seeds. You could add a spoon of peanut butter as well. Leave this overnight. Feel free to add a scoop of protein powder as well!
Top it up with nuts, fruits (banana, pomegranate, apples) and enjoy!
Fruits give enough sweetness, you might not need any other sweetener.
Vegan Oatmeal Bowl
This is a coconut mill based bowl, with amazing flavours!
Add half a bowl of coconut milk to 2-3 spoons of oats along with almond/peanut butter, a spoon of chia seeds and cinnamon. You can add sweetener of your choice, or any flavoured protein powder or leave it as it! Just ensure that the flavour compliments the bowl.
Next day garnish with some nuts, toasted/freshly grated coconut and fruits!
Apple cinnamon Bowl
This one bursts with flavours and is so simple to make!
Mix 100 gm curd/yogurt or a cup of milk with 2-3 spoons oats with a spoon of chia/basil seeds and cinnamon (you can add more of it if you like). You could add a spoon of peanut butter as well. Leave this overnight. Feel free to add a scoop of protein powder as well, unflavoured ones work best as you wouldn’t want to mask the cinnamon.
You could add a sweetener or leave it as is
Garnish it with apples, almonds/walnuts and may be more cinnamon on the top :D
Chocolate Peanut butter Bowl
This will melt your heart! This is my favourite one :)
Mix 100 gm curd/yogurt or a cup of milk with 2-3 spoons oats with a spoon of chia/basil seeds, 2 spoons cocoa. Leave this overnight. Feel free to add a scoop of protein powder as well, cocoa flavoured ones might work best for this one.
Garnish this with a banana, almonds, peanut butter, optional : toasted coconut.
Savoury : Curd Oats (like curd rice)
This is soul food :) It is a replica of curd rice, in an overnights oats version.
Mix 100 gm curd/yogurt with 2-3 spoons oats with grated ginger, grated veggies (like beetroot, carrots, etc), salt and pepper for seasoning. You can choose to add unflavoured protein powder in this, if you want. Leave this mixture overnight. You can also adda spoon of chia seeds.
Next morning, just add a tadka of little oil + curry leaves + mustard seeds, along with peanuts/any other nuts and pomegranate.
